I find the happiest time of my day is when I open a bag of snacks while watching Netflix or YouTube before bed.
Those who know the taste of sitting on the bed, crunching away while saying, "I worked hard today," will understand.
But the reality is that I get stressed out in traffic, get worn out dealing with difficult clients at work, and when I get home, I think, "I should exercise today," but end up heading straight to the couch.
As I repeat this day after day, my body feels heavier... Personally, the hardest part for me was constipation. 😭
On days when my constipation is severe, it really brings me to tears.
After struggling in the bathroom for a while, I feel drained, my stomach is bloated, and my condition worsens.
I would wonder, "Why is this happening when I'm eating well?" Then my cousin casually suggested something.
"You should try chia seeds. Just take a spoonful before bed, and you'll feel much better the next day."
At first, I was honestly skeptical. There are so many foods that are said to be good for you these days.
I thought I would just eat this for a few days and stop, but surprisingly, it became the longest-lasting habit I've developed.

The way I consume them is really simple. I put a spoonful of chia seeds in water before bed and let it soak for about 20 minutes, then drink a generous cup of water.
After a few minutes, I feel a bit full, and it helps me sleep well. It keeps me from thinking about late-night snacks.
At first, there wasn't much change, but after about a week, going to the bathroom in the morning became much easier than before.
It turns out that chia seeds are rich in dietary fiber, which can help with bowel movements and make stools softer.
Interestingly, chia seeds absorb much more water than their weight and turn into a gel-like substance.
This gel helps retain moisture in the intestines, reducing the chances of hard stools.
Some of the soluble dietary fiber in chia seeds serves as food for beneficial bacteria in the gut.
When beneficial bacteria increase, it can improve the intestinal environment and help maintain regular bowel movements.
That's why it's said to be a good food for those who don't eat many vegetables or, like me, often indulge in late-night snacks.
The best part is the feeling of fullness. I used to finish an entire bag of snacks, but since I started eating chia seeds, I've strangely felt less hungry and only eat a little.
Of course, chia seeds aren't a cure-all. If you don't drink enough water, it can actually cause discomfort, and if you eat too much at once, it can lead to gas or bloating.
So I recommend starting with about a spoonful a day.
For those like me who deal with a lot of stress, lack of exercise, and enjoy late-night snacks, a small habit like this can bring about a surprisingly big change.
I started with just a word from my cousin, and now I feel a bit empty without that spoonful of chia seeds before bed.
