When you think of Atlanta, it used to evoke the image of a "quiet Southern metropolis," but now the atmosphere has completely changed.
The more important point is that the growth rate does not seem likely to slow down anytime soon.
If you were to name the most iconic project in Atlanta right now, it would undoubtedly be the Atlanta BeltLine.
This is not just a simple walking path project. It's a massive infrastructure project transforming old railway land into a huge circular network connecting the entire city.
Pedestrian paths, bike lanes, parks, commercial facilities, and residential developments are all being integrated. Already, sections like the Eastside Trail are quite bustling with people.
On weekends, you can feel the city's atmosphere has changed significantly with people walking, running, and taking their dogs out.
The reason the BeltLine is important is that it's not just a pretty park. It's changing the neighborhoods around it.
Areas that previously went unnoticed are suddenly becoming popular, and apartments, condos, hotels, and restaurants are continuously being built nearby.
In fact, real estate prices near the BeltLine have already risen significantly. So much so that locals say, "If it's close to the BeltLine, it's worth checking out."
Changes in downtown are also significant. Particularly, the development of the long-neglected Gulch area showcases how aggressively Atlanta is transforming.
With discussions of Microsoft and large hotel developments, the atmosphere has changed dramatically.
What used to look like just an empty space is now being transformed into a large-scale mixed-use development area.

With developments around the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, downtown itself feels like it's coming back to life.
Midtown has also changed a lot from before. Comparing photos from a few years ago to now, the skyline looks completely different.
Tall office buildings are continuously rising, and the atmosphere has become more vibrant with young professionals flocking in.
Especially with big tech companies moving in, the city's image is shifting from a "traditional Southern city" to a "Southern tech hub."
Transportation issues remain a challenge for Atlanta. Anyone who has lived in Atlanta knows that commuting on the highways during rush hour is no easy task.
That's why discussions about MARTA expansion keep coming up. Plans for connecting Gwinnett County and BRT are being discussed, but it remains to be seen how quickly they will progress. Still, as the city continues to grow, there's no choice but to improve the transportation infrastructure.
The airport is in a similar situation. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport is already one of the busiest airports in the world, and discussions about additional terminals or new concourses are ongoing. This ultimately indicates that Atlanta will continue to play a central role in logistics and business.
The economic structure is also being bolstered by continuous investments from companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon, along with active AI and data research connected to the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Additionally, the film industry is also growing. Thanks to tax incentives in Georgia, Hollywood productions are increasingly flocking here, leading to the term "Eastern Hollywood."
The Korean community is also continuing to grow. Particularly in Gwinnett County, the Korean business sector is expanding, and the proportion of professionals is gradually increasing, not just in restaurants and service industries.
What used to be simply an area with a "Korean market" is now evolving into a fully developed community.
Ultimately, Atlanta seems to be a city still under construction. It retains the image of a central Southern city while simultaneously welcoming future industries and developments.
Therefore, it's highly likely that the city will look quite different in the next 5 to 10 years.
