If you were planning to visit the Bellagio flower display this week, hold on a moment. You might be disappointed if you go now.
According to local guides, the fall display ended on November 7, and the Conservatory will be closed from November 8 to 13 for holiday installation. It will reopen on November 14.
Last year's holiday display also opened on November 14, so the timing seems consistent. However, I couldn't confirm this year's dates directly on the Bellagio official page. So please check once more before you head out.
In fact, when it comes to Las Vegas year-end lights, the timing is more important than the location. Some displays have already started, while others still have nearly three weeks to go. So, I've organized the opening dates in order.
The first is the Ethel M Holiday Cactus Garden in Henderson. According to the official site, it opened on November 5 and will light up every night until January 3.
The admission fee is $3 per person, and both cash and cards are accepted. Children under 2 and seniors over 65 get in for free. Knowing that the proceeds go to Help of Southern Nevada and Three Square Food Bank makes the $3 fee feel quite light.
The hours are mostly from 5 PM to 10 PM. On December 24 and 31, and January 1, it closes early at 8 PM, and it is closed on Christmas Day. General admission does not require a reservation.
If you're thinking about Santa photos, you'll need to budget separately. A single photo costs $35, and the Santa Express Pass to skip the line is $40. So, keep in mind that the $3 admission might come as a surprise.
The second is Glittering Lights at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It starts on November 6 and runs until January 3, and it's a drive-through experience where you can enjoy the lights from your car.
Tickets are based on the car, not the number of people. The prices listed are $39 for cash, $44 for card or online, and $64 for the Fast Pass using a dedicated lane. Since there's a $5 difference for cash, it's beneficial to bring cash.
The operating hours are from 5 PM to 9 PM Sunday through Thursday, and until 10 PM on Friday and Saturday. It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to drive through, plus additional wait time at the entrance.
One more thing, don't rely solely on your navigation. It might direct you to a gate that you can't enter, so follow the instructions to exit at I-15 North and head to Speedway Blvd.
The third is today's main attraction, the Bellagio Conservatory. It will be open from November 14 to January 2 next year.
This one is completely free, requiring no tickets. It's open 24 hours a day, only closing when they change the displays. It's quite rare to find a free attraction on the Strip.
The fourth is Enchant Christmas. According to the official site, it runs from November 20 to December 27 at Las Vegas Ballpark.
The prices start at $27 but vary depending on the date, entry time, and demand. So, $27 is just the lowest price point. Since the season ends on December 27, it's also a place you might miss if you delay until the New Year holidays.
The fifth is the Magical Forest at Opportunity Village. It opens on November 27, the day after Thanksgiving, and the address is 6300 W Oakey Blvd.
According to Las Vegas Wonders, it will be closed from November 30 to December 2, and it will also be closed on Christmas Day. The hours start at 5:30 PM, with closing times of 9 PM Sunday through Thursday, and 9:30 PM on Friday and Saturday.
However, there's something to be cautious about here. The schedule from Travel Nevada shows slightly different dates for early December, and the general admission fee was undecided at the time of writing the guide. Be sure to check the official site calendar before purchasing tickets.
You might be curious about the Mystic Falls Park show at Sam's Town. Last year, it ran from November 26 to January 1, but I couldn't find this year's schedule in the materials I checked.
So, where should we start? If you're looking at costs, the answer is simple. Bellagio is free, while Ethel M would be $12 for four adults.
On the other hand, if you have a larger group, the calculations change. Five adults at Ethel M would be $15, but Glittering Lights is $39 for the whole car. Divided per person, that's less than $8, and young children or seniors won't have to walk in the cold at night.
The garden offers a walking experience and atmosphere, while the drive-through option is comfortable and worry-free about the weather.
If it were me, I would start lightly at Ethel M this week, then visit Bellagio on a weekday evening after the 14th, and finish up with Glittering Lights when it gets colder.
Don't wait until the end of December. Enchant ends on the 27th, and other places may close early or be closed on the 24th, 25th, and 31st. Those who plan their year-end schedules a month in advance tend to have the best time.
The dates and prices listed here are based on information released by early November. I checked Ethel M and Enchant on their official sites, while the others are based on guides and may change.
This year, don't delay; just mark one on your calendar. Even a $3 evening stroll can really get you into the holiday spirit.
