The Omni Dallas Hotel with a whopping 1,001 rooms
If you live in Dallas for a long time, you naturally get used to the tall buildings in downtown.
However, the place I want to talk about today is the Omni Dallas Hotel.
It is known as the second largest hotel in Dallas, boasting an impressive 1,001 rooms.
Having over a thousand rooms is more like operating a small apartment complex than just a hotel.
When you think about how many guests come and go, how cleaning is done, bedding is changed, and meals are provided, running a hotel is no small feat.
The Omni Dallas Hotel is located at 555 South Lamar Street in the heart of downtown.
Opened in 2011, it may not be one of Dallas's historic hotels, but it has become one of the iconic buildings in downtown.
The building stands 23 stories tall, with a glass exterior that makes it easily recognizable from afar.
Especially at night, the building's exterior lights up in various colors, making it a sight to behold while driving through downtown Dallas.
However, this hotel is famous not just for its size.
Its biggest advantage is that it is directly connected to the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center.
If you stay at this hotel, you can move to the convention center without going outside. This may seem trivial, but for those living in Texas, it is incredibly convenient.
What is the summer weather like in Dallas? There are many days when just standing outside for a moment makes you sweat profusely.
But if someone dressed in a suit can move comfortably from the hotel to the event venue, that is truly the best condition.

This is especially advantageous for business travelers who have events from morning till evening.
The hotel also offers a variety of facilities typical of a large hotel.
There are several restaurants and bars, as well as a fitness center and spa.
Personally, the facility that catches my eye the most is the outdoor pool.
Being able to enjoy swimming while overlooking the cityscape among downtown buildings is quite appealing.
Of course, the pool water might get warm during the Dallas summer. Haha.
Depending on the location and direction of the room, you can enjoy views of the Dallas downtown skyline.
Rooms with views of the iconic Reunion Tower would be great for enjoying the night scenery.
There are also many tourist attractions nearby.
Dealey Plaza, related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, the Sixth Floor Museum, and the AT&T Discovery District are all within close proximity.
For tourists visiting Dallas for the first time, it is a good location for exploring downtown.
However, one thing to consider is parking. Most people living in Dallas travel by car.
Downtown large hotels often charge separate parking fees, so if you only look at the room rate when booking, you might end up spending more than expected.
It's best to check parking fees and various additional charges when making hotel reservations.

The Omni Hotel also operates its own customer program called Select Guest.
This differs from the typical airline mileage system, so it's important to check the benefit conditions.
However, thinking again about the fact that there are 1,001 rooms is quite impressive.
If an average of two people stay in each room, that means around 2,000 people could be staying in the hotel.
That's comparable to the population of a small town all sleeping under one roof.
Since I live in Dallas, I don't often have the need to stay at a downtown hotel.
But if friends or family from other areas come to visit Dallas, I think it's a place worth recommending at least once.
Especially if the purpose is to attend a convention, the location is quite convenient.
Of course, room rates may increase during large events, so it's important to choose the timing of your reservation wisely.
Next time you pass by the Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas, think about this.
There are over a thousand rooms inside that building, and countless people are eating, sleeping, and working there.
It usually just looks like a large glass building, but it turns out to be one of the key facilities supporting Dallas's tourism and business industry.
The next time I have to go downtown, I'd like to go inside the hotel and have a cup of coffee while taking a look around.
Of course, it would be a bit frustrating if I ended up paying more for parking just to grab a cup of coffee.
