One of the things I love about living in Palm Springs is how close the airport is.

If you've lived in LA, you know the drill. You wake up at dawn to drive to LAX, get stuck on the 105 freeway, and by the time you finally get to your flight, you're already exhausted before your trip even starts. But in Palm Springs, no matter where you start from downtown, you can get to the airport in just 10 to 15 minutes. This is a huge advantage once you experience it.

Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) may not be large, but it is incredibly convenient. The address is 1 Airport Blvd, Palm Springs, and it takes about 5 to 10 minutes to reach from the city center by car. The airport is not complicated, so it doesn't take long to park and check in. You won't have to walk for minutes like you do in large airports. Frequent travelers will quickly appreciate this convenience.

The airlines serving the airport are more diverse than you might think. Major U.S. airlines like American Airlines, Delta, United, Southwest, and Alaska Airlines all operate here.

There are direct flights to major cities like San Francisco, Seattle, Phoenix, Denver, Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, and New York, making domestic travel quite convenient.

However, direct flights to Korea are only available from LAX. So when visiting Korea or traveling to Asia, many people often drive from Palm Springs to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) or take a domestic flight to connect to another hub airport.

Personally, I also frequently recommend Ontario International Airport (ONT).

It's about an hour's drive from Palm Springs, which is much less of a hassle than LAX.

While there aren't many international flights, there are a variety of domestic flights, making it convenient for connections.

One thing you must remember is the Coachella music festival season.

Every April, tourists flock from around the world, causing flight prices to spike and hotels to sell out quickly.

If you plan to travel during this time, it's best to book at least a few months in advance.

For those considering train travel, you might be a bit disappointed. There is no passenger train station in downtown Palm Springs, so you'll need to travel to nearby areas to use Amtrak. Therefore, most residents prefer to use cars or planes.

Ultimately, Palm Springs is a small city, but transportation is surprisingly convenient. Especially with the airport being so close to downtown, it becomes a significant advantage for those who travel frequently for work or leisure. The journey to the airport isn't stressful; you can enjoy a cup of coffee at home and leave at your leisure. I believe this ease is another charm of living in Palm Springs.
