History

San Antonio began in 1718 with the construction of a mission by Spanish missionaries. The original name was "Mission San Antonio de Valero," which later became known as the 'Alamo.'

Before and after American independence: In the early 19th century, it was under Mexican rule, and after going through the Texas Republic (1836-1845), it was annexed by the United States in 1845.

The Battle of the Alamo: One of the key battles of the Texas War of Independence in 1836, it was a fierce battle between the Mexican army and the Texas independence forces at the Alamo fortress. This battle is a historical site symbolizing Texas's spirit of independence, where the slogan "Remember the Alamo" originated.
