Having lived in Lansdale for several years, I can clearly see both the good and the bad aspects of this place.

I want to write about it as it is, hoping it will help those considering their next settlement.

Starting with the advantages, first and foremost, it is a safe neighborhood. The crime rate is low, and the quiet residential environment makes it worry-free for raising children. The difference is quite noticeable compared to downtown Philadelphia.

The school district, as I mentioned earlier, is North Penn, which alleviates concerns about my children's education. Additionally, having a train station allows for commuting to Philadelphia without a car, which is a significant advantage. Housing prices are relatively reasonable compared to some areas in Philadelphia and the densely Korean-populated areas in New Jersey. Overall, while Montgomery County can be expensive, it is justifiable considering the school district and safety.

However, there are honestly some downsides. First, there is a lack of diversity. Although the Asian population, particularly Koreans, is increasing, the neighborhood is predominantly white. This may lead to situations where children are in the minority at school, and the impact on their identity formation can vary from family to family.

Moreover, access to Korean food and Asian services is indeed less convenient compared to Philadelphia or New Jersey. It can be a hassle if you want to eat Korean food every day.

Another downside is the high dependence on cars. While there is a train, daily activities like shopping, visiting the doctor, and taking kids to their classes almost always require a car. It is difficult to live solely on public transportation. Additionally, the issue of snow removal in winter was a bit surprising at first.

Those who have lived in Korean cities will find that the management of neighborhood roads on snowy days is not as prompt as we might expect. Overall, this neighborhood has clear pros and cons, but I believe it is an attractive option for families prioritizing education and safety.
