One of the things I was curious about when looking into Clarksville was the airport.

So I asked, "Where is the airport here?" and was told, "There is no airport in this area." Haha

To be precise, Clarksville does not have a commercial airport that we use when traveling.

The nearest major airport is Nashville International Airport (BNA).

It's about 55 miles away from Clarksville, so depending on where you live and the traffic situation, you can expect it to take around 50 minutes to an hour.

At first, I thought this would be quite inconvenient. After all, you have to go to another city just to catch a flight.

However, once you live here, it's not as big of a deal as you might think.

In the U.S., it's not unusual to drive about an hour to get to an airport, and BNA is quite a large airport.

Nashville International Airport represents Tennessee and has a significant number of domestic flights to major cities in the U.S., as well as international flights.

Nashville itself is growing rapidly, and the number of airport passengers has increased significantly, with ongoing expansions of terminals and facilities.

So even if you fly frequently while living in Clarksville, you won't feel too restricted by flight options.

The most convenient way to get to the airport is definitely by car. You can load your luggage and just drive to BNA, parking your car in the long-term parking lot.

There are various parking options around the airport, so when traveling for a few days, this method is the simplest.

If you don't want to leave your car at the airport, you can also use shuttle services or rideshare options like Uber or Lyft.

If you're traveling alone or leaving your home for an extended period, it's a good idea to calculate parking fees and compare which option is cheaper.

However, when it comes to trains, the situation changes completely. Clarksville does not have an Amtrak station, and currently, there are no regular Amtrak passenger trains coming into Nashville either. So the idea of "just go to the station and take a train to another state" is practically impossible.

If you really want to use the train, you'll need to travel by bus or another mode of transportation to a city where Amtrak operates, and then switch to the train.

For those who love train travel, this is definitely a downside.

Ultimately, living in Clarksville makes a significant difference in convenience depending on whether you have a car or not. This applies not only to daily life but also to travel.

If you have a car, you can reach Nashville Airport in about an hour, so it's not as inconvenient as you might think.

As long as you accept that it's a bit of a distance from Clarksville, using flights is actually quite convenient compared to what I expected.
