Approximately 4,000 to 5,000 Koreans, including mixed-race individuals, reside in Mississippi.

The Korean Association in Mississippi was established in February 2021 and is active, with the Korean community centered around Korean schools and churches.

The Korean community is primarily organized around Korean churches and Korean schools. In major cities of Mississippi such as Jackson, Hattiesburg, and Biloxi, there are about five Korean churches, and Korean food can be purchased at some Asian grocery stores. However, many Koreans visit Dallas, Texas, or Atlanta, Georgia, about six hours away, to find Korean food.

The main Korean communities are as follows:

  • Jackson area:
  • Biloxi and Gulfport area
  • Starkville area
Korean businesses in Mississippi are mostly focused on small self-employment, with beauty supply stores, donut shops, and shopping malls being typical examples.

Recently, it is said that the founding president, Kim Hyun-jung, has been busy since the establishment of the Korean Association.
