The establishment of a foundation for Koreans to settle and live in Georgia is largely due to the presence of Korean institutions in the area, which has created an environment where Koreans can live and work stably.

One of the important places among them is the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Atlanta.

This institution is not only for residents of Georgia but also oversees several southeastern states, including Florida, Alabama, North and South Carolina, and Tennessee. Since it serves as a window for essential administrative tasks needed overseas, such as passport renewals, visa applications, various notarizations, and birth and marriage registrations, the existence of this consulate provides great stability for Koreans in Georgia.

Next, we should pay attention to the KOTRA Atlanta Trade Center. This institution supports Korean companies that have entered Georgia and the southeastern region, and plays a role in connecting trade and investment between Korea and businesses in this area. Georgia is strong in manufacturing and logistics, so various Korean companies, including those in automotive parts, machinery, electronics, batteries, and logistics, have entered this market. It is said that there are now over 100 Korean companies operating in Georgia.

With such active corporate activities, families of expatriates, skilled workers, and trade professionals continue to migrate, and this flow has contributed to the growth of the Korean community. While it used to be a "Korean community centered around churches," it has now become a much more solid structure with four pillars: "business + consulate + community + schools."
