Hollywood is well-known as the backdrop for various movies. I explored the must-visit attractions in this area, just 10 minutes from LA's Koreatown.
Now, let me introduce the top 7 famous tourist spots in Hollywood that I visited.
1. Hollywood Sign
First, the Hollywood Sign! This is a must-visit spot for anyone visiting Hollywood. It was truly moving to see the famous sign that I had only seen in photos. There are several ways to get a close view of the sign, such as hiking along the Hollywood Hills Trail or viewing it from Griffith Observatory. I hiked closer to the sign, and although the climb was a bit tough, it was worth it to see it up close.
The photo I took in front of the sign was really satisfying. I had no idea the letters symbolizing Hollywood were so large. It felt like an important landmark representing Hollywood's history, embodying the dreams of cinema.
2. Hollywood Walk of Fame
The next place I visited was the Hollywood Walk of Fame. This is one of the most famous spots in Hollywood, where stars of those who have made significant contributions in film, music, television, and radio are laid out on the street. It was fun to walk and find the names of famous stars from around the world.
I saw the stars of many celebrities, including Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson, and Elvis Presley. You can also see the handprints and footprints of the stars, making it feel like stepping into the world of movies. Walking along this street made the places I had seen in films feel real. Especially after sunset, the lights along the street create a completely different atmosphere.
3. Rodeo Drive
If you love shopping, Rodeo Drive is an unmissable spot. This luxurious shopping street in Hollywood is filled with high-end brands. Stores of luxury brands like Gucci, Chanel, and Prada line the street. I just browsed, but the luxurious clothes and accessories visible through the windows were truly impressive.
And for those who remember the movie "Pretty Woman," this is the famous shopping street featured in it. Julia Roberts' shopping scene was filmed right here. Shopping or just walking down this street, where you can feel the luxury, will be a special experience.
4. Griffith Observatory
Next was Griffith Observatory. This place offers a great view of the Hollywood Sign and a panoramic view of LA. I went up to Griffith Observatory and took amazing photos with the LA skyline and the Hollywood Sign in the background. The view is breathtaking! If you go in the evening, you can enjoy the fantastic night view overlooking the sparkling city of LA.
This place has well-maintained hiking trails, making it great for walking, and inside the observatory, there are telescopes for stargazing and astronomy exhibits, which made it even more interesting. The experience of seeing stars up close was truly unique and enjoyable.
5. TCL Chinese Theatre
The TCL Chinese Theatre is an essential historical site in Hollywood. This vintage cinema opened in 1927 and features a unique and beautiful Chinese architectural style. However, the charm of this theater is not just its architecture but also the handprints and footprints.
In front of the Chinese Theatre, the handprints and footprints of famous movie stars are engraved. It was truly moving to see the handprints and footprints of legends like Marilyn Monroe and James Dean. Movies are also screened inside the theater, so watching a film in this historic cinema would be fun.
6. Universal Studios Hollywood
If you're a movie fan, Universal Studios Hollywood is a must-visit. This place combines a theme park and a movie studio, offering studio tours of filming locations and fun movie-themed rides. I had a blast on the Harry Potter and Jurassic Park themed rides.
Especially the studio tour was fascinating as it allowed me to see the sets of famous movies while touring the actual filming locations. Various movie sets are recreated, and I felt like I was inside a movie while seeing famous scenes filmed there. There are many attractions suitable for both children and adults, making it a great place for families to visit together.
7. Hollywood Museum
Finally, I want to recommend the Hollywood Museum. This is a place that anyone interested in film history and Hollywood culture will truly enjoy. Inside the museum, there are exhibits of movie props, costumes worn by actors, and film-related artifacts, making it a fascinating time for a movie fan. I especially learned about the film production process by seeing the production materials up close.
My trip to Hollywood was truly an exciting experience. Thanks to the various attractions that made me feel like I was part of a movie, it was as if I had become the protagonist in a scene from a film. I was able to experience the world of cinema by strolling through iconic spots like the Hollywood Sign, TCL Chinese Theatre, and Universal Studios Hollywood. If you visit Los Angeles, be sure not to miss Hollywood!
