Henderson, NV is a city located in Clark County, Nevada, adjacent to Las Vegas to the southeast.
Within a radius of about 50 miles (approximately 80 km) from Henderson, there are several cities and communities, each with its own unique characteristics and living environments. These areas are often visited by residents of Henderson or considered by those looking to relocate.
The closest major city is, of course, Las Vegas. It is located about 16 miles (approximately 26 km) northwest of Henderson and can be reached in 15 to 25 minutes by car. Las Vegas is the largest city in Clark County, with a population of about 650,000 (approximately 2.2 million including the metro area), and features attractions such as the Las Vegas Strip, Fremont Street, and the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC). Most of the community infrastructure, including Korean markets, restaurants, and churches, is concentrated in Las Vegas.
North Las Vegas is an independent city located north of Las Vegas, about 25 miles from Henderson. It has a population of around 270,000, making it the third-largest city in Clark County. The city has many manufacturing and logistics facilities, and the cost of living is relatively lower than in Las Vegas or Henderson. Nellis Air Force Base is located within this city.
Boulder City is a small city located about 22 miles southeast of Henderson, with a population of around 16,000. It is one of the few cities in Nevada where casinos are not legalized and serves as a gateway to Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Known for its quiet atmosphere and historical architecture, it is a popular spot for immigrants who enjoy outdoor activities on weekends.
Mesquite is a small city located about 80 miles northeast of Henderson, slightly beyond the 50-mile range, but worth mentioning as it is near the Nevada-Utah border. To the east within the 50-mile radius, there is a boundary with Arizona, and much of the area is desert terrain rather than residential cities.
To the west, Pahrump is located about 60 miles from Henderson, also slightly beyond the 50-mile range. However, to the northwest of Henderson, there are unincorporated communities such as Summerlin South, Spring Valley, and Sunrise Manor that are included in the Las Vegas metro area. Summerlin is an upscale residential area located west of Las Vegas and is considered one of the most desirable residential areas in Clark County, along with Henderson.
The 50-mile radius encompasses several counties. In addition to Clark County, about 50 miles to the north includes parts of Nye County. Additionally, to the southeast, areas near Kingman in Mohave County, Arizona, also fall within the 50-mile radius. Kingman is a small city located in the northwest of Arizona, about 100 miles from Henderson, so it is technically outside the 50-mile range, but it is a popular weekend drive destination among Koreans due to its connection to Route 66.
The areas surrounding Henderson offer different attractions depending on residential, recreational, or business purposes. Considering the vibrancy and commercial infrastructure of Las Vegas, the quiet natural environment of Boulder City, and the relatively affordable cost of living in North Las Vegas, expanding one's living range can provide practical benefits for residents of Henderson.
