Tic Tac.

When I was young, the flavor was a bit strong, but the case that clicks open and closed was a fun little toy to play with.

And when you put it in your mouth, the refreshing and popping taste! The mint aroma that rises is surprisingly addictive.

But have you ever thought, "Is this sugar? Or is there something special in it?"

In fact, Tic Tac is mostly sugar.

On the outside, it says "1 calorie mint!" giving it a diet candy vibe, but if you look at the ingredient list, the first line clearly states Sugar, Dextrose.

Of course, one Tic Tac has very few calories. So it's fine when you eat one.

The problem is... does anyone just eat one? After one, you reach for two, three, ten... that's the issue.

Before you know it, half the container is gone. And then you regret it. "Isn't this just like eating a whole bag of candy...?" you think.

And what's tricky about Tic Tac is that its small size makes you feel like you're eating less. When you shake it, it makes a cute sound, right?

So you keep opening the lid and reaching in. Once it's in your mouth, it melts away quickly, so you think, "Oh, it should be fine~".

Then your blood sugar spikes, and we blissfully ignore it.

Many people use Tic Tac for freshening breath... but to be honest, it doesn't have much effect.

It just leaves a temporary scent and that's it. Brushing your teeth is the best. Tic Tac is just a candy for a mood lift.

I always keep a container in my car. When I feel sleepy while driving, eating one gives me a jolt of alertness.

But I don't know if it's because of the mint or the sugar. Sugar gives a short pleasure to the brain, right? So maybe that's it.

If you're thinking about health, a few a day is fine. But thinking, "It's a diet candy, so it's okay~"? That's a trap.

It's just candy. It's just that the packaging is stylish.

If you want to reduce sugar? The answer is simple.

Close the lid.
