If you have a pack of ground beef at home, it is truly a versatile ingredient.
You don't need to chop or prepare it much; once it's thawed, you can start cooking right away, making it incredibly convenient.
Even those who are not good at cooking have a low chance of failure, and skilled cooks can enhance the flavor in their own style.
Today, I will outline six dishes that can be quickly made with just one pack of ground beef.
The first is bulgogi rice bowl.
Lightly oil a pan, stir-fry the ground beef, then add onions and green onions to sauté together. When the meat is almost cooked, just add soy sauce, sugar, minced garlic, and pepper to finish. You can add a little water to make it soupy, or stir-fry it on high heat for a sweet glaze. Serve it over rice with a fried egg on top for a satisfying meal.
The second is beef doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew).
In a pot, add a tablespoon of sesame oil and stir-fry the ground beef to remove any odor. Then, dissolve the soybean paste and add water, followed by tofu, zucchini, onion, and chili. Even without anchovy broth, the meat provides enough flavor for a delicious stew. After boiling for about 10 minutes, it becomes a soup that can quickly disappear with a bowl of rice.
The third is spicy stir-fried ground beef with gochujang (red chili paste).
Heat oil in a pan and stir-fry the meat first, then add gochujang, sugar, soy sauce, and minced garlic, and stir-fry until well combined. A drop of sesame oil at the end makes it a perfect dish to enjoy with rice. It can be wrapped in seaweed, made into rice balls, or served over bibimbap. If stored in the fridge, it can be used as a side dish for several days.
The fourth is seaweed soup with beef.
Stir-fry soaked seaweed in sesame oil, then add the ground beef and sauté together. When the savory aroma of the seaweed and meat rises, add water and season with soy sauce. There's no need to boil for long; just 15 minutes will bring out a deep flavor. Even if it's not a birthday, having it occasionally is comforting.
The fifth is upgraded 3-minute curry.
Instead of eating store-bought curry as is, first stir-fry the ground beef in a pan, add a little onion, potato, and carrot, then pour in water and bring to a boil. After that, add the 3-minute curry and boil again for a restaurant-style curry experience. Adding meat definitely enhances the flavor of the curry.
The sixth is beef fried rice.
Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry the meat first, then add kimchi, green onions, or garlic to sauté together. Add rice, a splash of soy sauce, and sprinkle with pepper to finish. Adding a beaten egg makes it even softer. It's the most filling dish when there's nothing else in the fridge.
The advantage of ground beef is its short cooking time and low chance of failure. As long as it's thawed, you can complete any dish in under 15 minutes.
If you have ground beef in the freezer, you now know that you can easily prepare dinner that night.
