First, let's introduce Chino Airport (FAA code: CNO), located within the city of Chino.
This airport does not operate commercial flights from the large passenger airlines we commonly use. Instead, it is a general aviation airport primarily used by small private planes, business jets, and light aircraft.
Don't underestimate it just because it's small. Chino Airport is one of the busiest general aviation airports in California, actively serving as a hub for flight training for aspiring pilots and private aircraft owners.
Additionally, right next to this airport is the world-renowned Planes of Fame Air Museum, where visitors can see historic aircraft, making it a popular destination for families and aviation enthusiasts on weekends.
So where should we catch the commercial flights we typically use for travel or business trips?
Residents of Chino don't need to go far. Ontario International Airport (ONT), located nearby, serves as a perfect alternative.
Ontario Airport is just about a 10-minute drive from downtown Chino, only 7-8 miles away.
This airport is known for being the most convenient airport in the Greater Los Angeles area after LAX (Los Angeles International Airport).

Major airlines such as Southwest, American, Delta, United, and Alaska Airlines operate here, connecting to destinations across the U.S. and some international routes.
Overwhelming convenience: Above all, the biggest advantage of ONT is its 'comfort.'
Compared to the massive LAX, the airport is appropriately sized with a simple layout, making parking easy and significantly reducing wait times for check-in and security. Residents of Chino and the Inland Empire prefer ONT over LAX due to the lack of complicated traffic and notorious crowds.
While Chino scores a perfect ten for air traffic, there is one thing to keep in mind if you are considering train commuting.
Unfortunately, there is currently no Metrolink station for commuter rail service within the city of Chino.
Therefore, those who need to commute by train to downtown LA or other areas must use stations in nearby cities.
Pomona Station: Located north of Chino, it is relatively easy to access.
Rancho Cucamonga Station: Well-equipped with parking facilities, it is used by many residents.
If you are a train commuter, it's advisable to consider the driving time (Last Mile) to these two stations in your travel plans.
In summary, Chino perfectly offsets the shortcomings of public transport rail networks with the strong airport accessibility of Ontario Airport.
Being able to enjoy a stress-free airport layout just 10 minutes away by car is undoubtedly a significant advantage of life in California.
