New Haven train station is an old station in Connecticut, now called Union Station.
This station is not just a place where trains stop, but a location that showcases the history of American railroads.
It was first built in 1848 when the railway was laid down here.
At that time, it was not a large building like today, but a small building with Italian design.
As time passed, it was rebuilt in 875, but unfortunately, a big fire in 1918 burned it down.
After the fire, a completely new building had to be constructed. So, the famous architect Cass Gilbert was commissioned to design it.
This person is the one who designed the Woolworth Building in New York.
The new New Haven station he created was completed in 1920, and since then, it became a major station that important trains to New York must pass through. The magnificent building we see today was built at that time.
Upon entering the building, the ceiling is very high, the windows are large, and the floor is made of stone, giving a sense of the elegance of old train travel.

Back then, most trains ran on coal, but New Haven was one of the first places where electric trains operated.
Thus, this station is also a very special place that witnessed the beginning of the electric railway era.
However, as time passed and cars and airplanes became more common, the number of people taking trains decreased.
So, this station also became old and quiet for a while.
Then, in the 1980s, it underwent restoration work and returned to its clean and beautiful appearance as it is now.
Now, Amtrak and several commuter trains pass through, and many people use it every day.

Now, New Haven station is not just a place where trains stop, but a symbol filled with the history of the city and the stories of its people.
Each brick bears the traces of people from the past, and countless travelers have departed from here over the years.
Thus, this station can be called a 'place where time has stopped' and a 'revived history.'
If I were to tell a child, New Haven station is like a huge door that has protected the city since long ago.
From the days when steam locomotives passed through to the current era of electric trains, it has kept this place and carried countless people.
So, if you go to New Haven, it would be great to stop by and take a slow look around to feel the history of that time.
