People often ask me about where I live, mentioning that Yale University is nearby, and I would boast about my granddaughter going there. Now, my granddaughter is truly studying there, and my heart couldn't be prouder.

She is currently majoring in economics. Since she was young, she often said, "I want to study economics."

It wasn't just talk; she prepared for related activities one by one since high school. She participated in local economic camps and never missed math competitions or debate tournaments. Not only did she achieve good grades, but she also consistently trained to organize her thoughts in writing and speak in front of others.

In fact, even though Yale University is in my neighborhood, I knew very well that becoming a student there was like reaching for the stars.

So when my granddaughter said she would aim for Yale, I thought to myself, 'What a big and distant dream she has.'

Whether in academics or activities, she always gave her best and managed her time wisely.

Even during vacations, she didn't just relax; she read economics-related books, sought internship opportunities, and actively participated in community service.

Ultimately, all those efforts combined to yield the fruit of her acceptance to Yale University.

When I heard the news of her acceptance, it was a big celebration. The whole family gathered to congratulate her, and I was so moved that I could have cried.

Having lived in the same neighborhood and always seeing the campus, I can't express how special it is that my granddaughter now studies there.

My granddaughter is not just attending classes; she is also involved in student organizations and works as an assistant in a professor's research lab.

She prepares projects with her friends and sometimes stays late at the library to continue discussions. There may be busy and tough times, but her voice is always bright and confident, making me feel proud rather than worried.

I often take walks on campus and text her to meet up, and each time, my heart swells with joy.

Unlike the days when I just watched Yale students, it's hard to believe that my granddaughter is now one of them. Seeing her carve out her path in such a prestigious institution as Yale, I am more touched than anyone else, knowing how diligently she has prepared.

Looking back, from the very first moment my granddaughter aimed for Yale until now, every step has been a path she created herself.

People around me often say, "It must be nice to live in New Haven because Yale is close," but it's not a place you can just go to because it's nearby. My granddaughter knew that well, which is why she prepared even harder.

Now, when I meet friends, I casually mention, "My granddaughter attends Yale." When they express surprise and envy, saying, "That's amazing," I feel a sense of pride, even though it's not something I did. This kind of pride is a lifelong gift in my life as a grandmother.

My granddaughter is studying economics at the prestigious Yale University and growing every day; no matter what path she takes in the future, I will always support her.
