These days, if you look at YouTube or social media, the truly amazing AI video technology is Sora2 developed by OpenAI. It's a remarkable product.
For example, if you simply input a sentence like "Create a video of a man playing guitar and singing at sunset on the beach," that scene is automatically generated. After using it myself, I truly believe it will completely change the paradigm of video production.
In the past, creating even a short video required a camera, lighting, and editing software. But now, just a laptop or smartphone is enough.
Sora2 is not just a tool for stitching images together; it is a comprehensive video creation tool that generates camera movements, facial expressions, voice, and background music all at once. Thanks to this, you can direct the desired scene as if you were a movie director.
The video production process involves creating a new project on the Sora2 app or website and entering a video description called a 'prompt.'
For example, if you write, "A white horse running in a field under a blue sky, sunlight reflecting and grass blades swaying in the wind," the AI creates that scene as if it were a real video. It also automatically synthesizes voice and background music. With the Cameo feature, you can even overlay your face or voice onto a character in the video. Seeing a character based on my own face speaking lines and acting made me realize how much the world is changing.
To make the most of Sora2, writing effective prompts is very important.
For instance, if you simply input "A person is walking," a bland video will result, but if you write, "A man with a black umbrella walks slowly in the rain. The city lights reflect on the wet road, and soft jazz music plays," you will get a much more cinematic result. Additionally, adding emotional expressions like "with a sad expression" will naturally change the character's facial expression.
Inserting directing instructions like "The camera zooms in on the character's face" greatly enhances the immersion of the video. Sound effects can also be specified as "sound of wind," "sound of waves," etc., creating an emotional atmosphere.
However, there are still some awkward parts in fast action or complex dialogue scenes, and scene transitions may not always be smooth. But after several attempts, a sufficiently high level of completion can be achieved. It's just that there is a lot to do.
Especially for YouTube shorts, Instagram-style videos, and promotional videos, it is already practical at this stage. For example, if you want to create a promotional video for a café, simply inputting, "Sunlight streaming through the window, steam rising from a coffee cup, and a customer working on a laptop" will generate a high-quality video. Adding subtitles can immediately turn it into an advertisement.
We have now entered an era where anyone can create creative content without expensive equipment or specialized skills. As long as you have imagination, anyone can become a director. Of course, it is still lacking, but given the pace of technological advancement, it is highly likely that the advertising, film, and YouTube markets will soon change based on Sora2.
Ultimately, Sora2 is a "tool that transforms the imagination in your head into reality on video." Ideas that could only be expressed through writing or drawing can now be realized as actual moving videos.
It seems that in this era, imagination and expressiveness have become more important than editing skills.
