On the night of May 18 (Sunday), a tornado occurred in Palo Pinto County, west of Fort Worth, causing significant damage in the Gordon and Santo areas. As a result, Gordon ISD and Santo ISD temporarily closed schools. Additionally, near I-20, an 18-wheeler overturned, and utility poles and billboards were damaged, disrupting traffic and power supply.

On the same night, strong rain and lightning in the Denton and Flower Mound areas resulted in power outages and structural damage. Funnel clouds and large hail were reported in several areas, with some hail reaching 3 inches (about 7.6 cm) in diameter.

From this afternoon to evening, the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is forecasted to experience severe weather with an "Enhanced Risk" level 3. Strong thunderstorms, large hail, high winds, and tornadoes are likely, especially between 4 PM and 10 PM. National Weather Service
