I've often heard that Torrance is a great place to exercise. The weather is a big factor, but the variety of accessible outdoor activity spaces is also a reason.
Whether you jog in a park near your home, ride your bike on the nearby beach bike path, or walk along the trails, there are plenty of options.
Torrance Beach is, as the name suggests, a beach adjacent to Torrance.
Located between Redondo Beach to the south and Palos Verdes to the north, this beach is less crowded and quieter compared to other popular beaches.
It's great for walking or jogging along the beach, and on calm days, you can find people swimming or surfing.
Parking is available at the beach parking lot, and on weekdays, you can usually find a spot without much hassle.
If you brought your bike, it connects to the South Bay Bicycle Trail, which links Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, and Hermosa Beach.
This beach bike path stretches across the South Bay area, making it the perfect route for enjoying the scenery while getting some cardio exercise.

For park trails, Wilson Park or the Madrona Marsh Nature Preserve are great options. Madrona Marsh features a wetland ecosystem exploration trail, offering a unique experience of walking in nature. The sight of birds flying over the foggy wetlands in the early morning is a view that's hard to find in the city.
If you're walking with a dog, be sure to check the Dog Park or park areas where dogs are allowed.
If you're looking to hike, heading towards Palos Verdes is a good idea. It takes about 10-15 minutes by car from Torrance to access hiking trails in Palos Verdes Estates or Rancho Palos Verdes.
The coastal cliff trails overlooking the Pacific are among the top hiking spots in Southern California. You can choose the difficulty level based on your fitness, and there are many routes suitable for families to enjoy together. Abalone Cove Shoreline Park is also in Palos Verdes, where you can explore tide pools and enjoy light trails.
If you prefer indoor workouts, there are various gyms in Torrance, including LA Fitness, YMCA, Orangetheory Fitness, and 24 Hour Fitness. There are also Korean-operated yoga studios and taekwondo dojos where you can enjoy exercising in a Korean-speaking environment.
Utilizing Torrance's great weather to create an outdoor exercise routine is one of the healthiest ways to relieve the stress of immigrant life.
