Located in Bergen County, New Jersey, Ridgefield is a residential area close to Manhattan, and while it is relatively small, it does not have many large attractions that could be considered "famous tourist spots." However, there are small parks to enjoy nature, historical buildings, and cultural and recreational facilities in the nearby area, so I recommend the following three places, including the surroundings.

Skeetkill Marsh Park

  • Features
    • A nature reserve located within Ridgefield, where you can observe wetland ecosystems near the urban area.
    • It has walking decks and small wooden bridges, making it great for light walks and bird watching.
    • Its appeal lies in being a natural wetland park that is hard to find in various parts of New Jersey.

Veterans Memorial Park

  • Features
    • A community park located in the center of Ridgefield, where local festivals and commemorative events are often held.
    • It has playgrounds for children, lawns, and benches, making it a good spot for light picnics.

Overpeck County Park Nearby (10-15 minutes by car)

  • Features
    • While there are not many large parks in Ridgefield itself, Overpeck County Park, which spans the nearby Ridgefield Park and Leonia areas, is one of the largest parks in New Jersey.
    • It offers running trails, lakeside walking paths, water recreation facilities like kayaking or canoeing, and performance venues, allowing families, couples, and friends to enjoy various activities together.

Other Places Worth Visiting

  • Meadowlands/American Dream (Meadowlands area, about 10-15 minutes by car)

    • A large shopping mall (American Dream), amusement park (Nickelodeon Universe), indoor ski resort (Big Snow), and other entertainment are concentrated in this area.
    • You can also enjoy sports (MetLife Stadium) and concerts.
  • Fort Lee Historic Park (about 15 minutes by car)

    • Located near the George Washington Bridge, which marks the border between New York and New Jersey, it offers views of historical sites from the American Revolutionary War and the stunning Palisades cliffs along the Hudson River.
  • New York Manhattan Tourism (about 20-30 minutes by public transport or car)

    • It is easily accessible from Ridgefield by bus or car, allowing for quick travel to world-famous tourist spots like Times Square, Central Park, and museums.

While Ridgefield is not known as a large tourist destination, considering the parks and recreational facilities mentioned above, as well as its excellent accessibility to Manhattan, you can enjoy a fulfilling experience tailored to your travel itinerary. If you want to enjoy nature, consider Skeetkill Marsh Park and Overpeck County Park, and if you prefer a light walk or picnic, Veterans Memorial Park is a good option.
