Liberty Science Center is not just a science museum, but a 'science playground' where the whole family can experience and have fun together. As soon as you enter the entrance, the high ceiling and spacious exhibition hall unfold refreshingly, making not only children but also adults' eyes sparkle naturally. Especially, since I visited on a weekday afternoon, there were many student groups and family visitors. You can hear children laughing and running around everywhere, and the interactive exhibits installed throughout create a lively atmosphere.

The biggest charm of this place is the 'hands-on and body-feeling exhibits.' Instead of just looking at the exhibits in glass display cases, you can press buttons, manipulate, and move your body to experience scientific principles. For example, there are various experience booths on each floor themed around gravity, sound, electricity, and light, allowing children to throw balls or spin wheels to visually confirm the laws of physics. I saw a child giggling while conducting a prism experiment with their flashlight, watching the light split into a rainbow.

One of the main attractions of Liberty Science Center is the 'Infinity Climber.' Watching children freely climb up and down inside the huge metal structure hanging from the ceiling is breathtaking. However, the safety devices are perfect, so there is no need to worry.

Seeing children laughing and running around makes it instantly clear why this place is a representative family destination in New Jersey. There is also an 'I Explore Zone' for younger children, where toddlers can easily learn and enjoy scientific principles.

And a place you absolutely cannot miss is the 'Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium.' One of the largest planetariums in North America, the cosmic visuals displayed on the 88-foot high dome screen are truly overwhelming. The program I watched was 'The Wonders of the Universe,' narrated by an astronomer who explained galaxies, planets, and black holes, making me feel as if I were floating in the middle of space. The sound system is also perfect, leaving the children in awe, unable to close their mouths.

Liberty Science Center does not only deal with science but also has many exhibits that combine technology and art. For example, there are booths where robotic arms paint, experience zones where you can explore the deep sea or space through virtual reality (VR), and interactive exhibits that visually explore the structure of the human brain. This setup naturally helps children feel that science is not difficult. There are also many interesting contents that even adults would think, "This is really well made."

The surrounding environment of the center is also very nice. Right next to it is Liberty State Park, so you can continue your visit with a park walk after your tour. If you go out behind the science museum building, you can see the Statue of Liberty in the distance, which is quite impressive. There is a small café and a souvenir shop on one side, making it a good place to take a break, and a food court is also neatly operated for dining.

The admission fee is about $30 for adults, and it is a bit more expensive if you include the planetarium viewing, but it is definitely worth it. On weekends, it gets crowded, so I recommend booking online, and while the parking lot is spacious, it can fill up quickly during event seasons. If you go late in the afternoon, you can enjoy it much more leisurely after the groups of children have left.

Another advantage of Liberty Science Center is that the exhibits change frequently. Special exhibitions are held each season, and in the past, large-scale experience exhibitions like 'Harry Potter: The Exhibition' have attracted fans from all over the world. It is a place where even those who are not interested in science can gain new experiences, and children naturally cultivate their curiosity.

As I walked out of the science museum towards Liberty State Park and looked back, the building reflecting sunlight on its glass exterior looked like a 'gateway to the future.' In the modern atmosphere of Jersey City, it is a space where science, nature, and human curiosity come together. Liberty Science Center is not just an exhibition hall, but a special place where people of all generations and ages can feel the same excitement and admiration.
