The average SAT score is in the low 1200s, which is significantly above the local average.

At this point, you might think, "Isn't this the perfect choice?"

However, from a parent's perspective, the situation is not that simple.

The biggest advantage of this school is clear: it has a well-established college preparation system.

The curriculum is heavily AP-focused, and students naturally enter a competitive environment.

In simple terms, there is a basic atmosphere of "hard work." This kind of environment is definitely beneficial.

Being influenced by the surrounding atmosphere is much more efficient than studying alone.

However, there is also a significant burden. The stronger the competition, the higher the stress.

It's important to consider whether your child's personality fits this environment. Some children thrive and grow in such settings, while others may lose confidence. Even high achievers can feel overshadowed if everyone around them is doing well.

Another practical issue is that admission is not based on neighborhood schools; there is a selection process to get in.

In other words, not everyone can attend just because they want to. Parents have to pay attention to many aspects during this process.

From scheduling to preparation and information gathering, the parent's role is significant.

Additionally, there is one more aspect that many people overlook: "A good school does not always equal a good college."

Of course, a good environment helps. But ultimately, it is the child who produces the results.

West Campus High School is undoubtedly a good school. However, it may not be the best choice for every child.

What matters for parents is not the ranking, but whether it is the right fit.

If we blindly follow the standards that others deem good, there can be more cases than expected where the child struggles later on.

Reflecting on West Campus High School, I realize it is a good school, but it is not "good for everyone."
