
Kansas City is a major city located on the border of Missouri and Kansas, surrounded by various cities of different sizes and characteristics.

First, looking at the Kansas side, Overland Park is located about 15-20 miles south of downtown Kansas City. With a population of around 200,000, it is the second-largest city in Kansas and is known for its spacious residential areas and excellent school districts.
In particular, the Blue Valley and Shawnee Mission school districts are highly preferred among Korean families, and the Korean population has been steadily increasing in recent years. With well-established infrastructure such as shopping centers, restaurants, and hospitals, Overland Park is highly competitive as a residential area. To the east of Overland Park are Leawood and Prairie Village, both classified as upscale residential areas.
Shawnee is a city located about 15 miles west of Kansas City, with a population of approximately 67,000. It offers a pleasant living environment and relatively low cost of living, making it popular among young families. Lenexa is a city adjacent to Shawnee to the south, which has been experiencing rapid growth recently, with active business attraction and commercial development.
Lawrence is located about 40 miles west of Kansas City and is known as a college town, home to the University of Kansas. Lawrence is famous for its vibrant culture, diverse restaurants, and independent bookstores, making it a popular weekend getaway.

On the Missouri side, Independence is located about 10 miles east of Kansas City.
With a population of around 117,000, it plays an important role as a satellite city in the Kansas City metro area.
Historically, it is known as the hometown of former President Harry S. Truman, and the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum serves as a venue for historical education. Lee's Summit is a rapidly growing city located about 20 miles southeast of Kansas City, popular among families due to its excellent school districts and pleasant living environment.
Blue Springs is a city located about 25 miles east of Kansas City, rich in natural surroundings and offering relatively low housing costs for a practical lifestyle.
Grandview is located about 15 miles south of Kansas City and is also known as the place where President Truman spent his childhood. Olathe is a city in Kansas located south of Overland Park, about 25 miles from Kansas City. With a population of over 140,000, it is rapidly growing, with new residential developments continuing in areas like Garnett Hill.
Further out, St. Joseph is located about 55 miles north of Kansas City (near the 50-mile border) and is known as the starting point of the historic Pony Express. Excelsior Springs, a small spa town located about 30 miles northeast of Kansas City, is known for its beautiful natural scenery.
The cities within 50 miles of Kansas City each have their unique characteristics and can be utilized for various living or leisure purposes. Especially for Korean families considering their children's education, it is important to thoroughly research school districts like Overland Park or Lee's Summit in advance.
