A diverse manufacturing base makes the economy more resilient to fluctuations.

The entertainment economy is also significant. AT&T Stadium, Globe Life Field, Six Flags Over Texas, and the Texas Live! entertainment complex — these are not just simple tourist infrastructures. They create an employment ecosystem involving hotels, restaurants, parking, and event staff.

Moreover, with Arlington confirmed as a host city for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, I believe the economic impact will be substantial both in the short term and in terms of long-term infrastructure investment. Preparations are already underway, and related contracts and projects are in motion.

The education and research sector cannot be overlooked. The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is an R1 research university with over 41,000 students, and it is analyzed to have an economic impact of $27 billion on the Texas economy. Having such a research university in the city naturally leads to various economic activities like startup ecosystems, skilled workforce supply, and research services.

It's also noteworthy that a Fortune 500 company like D.R. Horton has its headquarters in Arlington. With manufacturing, entertainment, education, and real estate — this combination can be considered a fairly balanced economic structure.
