While poking around here and there, I heard some talk about the US real estate market in 2025....
These days, there's a lot of chatter about the economy and interest rates.
In my opinion, I don't think housing prices will skyrocket, but I also don't think they will drop drastically.
It seems that there are significant differences by region.
Popular cities like LA and New York will likely hold their ground, while the Midwest and South might see prices rise as people flock there due to remote work.
Do we really have to live in big cities? Nowadays, as long as you have a good internet connection, you can work from anywhere. Of course, excluding those rural areas where it takes two hours to get to Costco or Walmart, haha.
Also, many people are hesitant to buy homes due to high mortgage rates, but if rates drop significantly in 2025, won't people line up to buy again?
But this depends on how the Federal Reserve (Fed) will act, so I'm not sure... If the economy struggles and they don't lower rates, housing prices might hold steady for a while, and it won't be easy for people to move around while renting... They might get tired of it.
Honestly, I think the problem lies with US construction companies. It seems that rising construction costs make it hard to increase new housing supply.
For prices to stabilize, there needs to be enough supply, but is that easy? Still, there are places where new developments are being dug up, so if you choose wisely, you might find a neighborhood that's affordable and quiet.
People considering investment are often looking more at rental income rather than just buying and selling homes for profit.
These days, due to online shopping, logistics warehouses and office buildings are also becoming popular. It seems that people are moving away from just focusing on homes and are starting to explore commercial real estate for investment.
Ultimately, by around 2025, it seems like things will be more complex than just watching whether "housing prices go up or down." It will vary greatly by region and purpose.
Oh, and for someone like me who dislikes complexity, I might just think, 'Let's just grab a decent neighborhood and stick with it.' Anyway, the world keeps moving on.
My thoughts may not be professional, but it wouldn't hurt to take them in one ear and let them out the other.
I just wanted to share my thoughts on my blog..... and I hope you make good choices in 2025. That's all!
