The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in the 2025 Super Bowl, claiming their second championship since 2018.

The Eagles avenged their loss in the last Super Bowl two years ago to secure the victory. Notably, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts led the team with 221 passing yards and two touchdown passes.

The game started with the Eagles taking control. In the first quarter, Jalen Hurts scored the first touchdown with a 1-yard rush, and in the second quarter, Cooper Kupp intercepted a pass from Patrick Mahomes to add another touchdown, taking a significant lead of 24-0.

The Eagles' defense was overwhelming, and Mahomes struggled, being intercepted three times in the first half. In the second quarter, Eagles' Zach Bond intercepted another pass from Mahomes, completely shutting down the Chiefs' offense. The first half for the Chiefs in the 2025 Super Bowl was truly disastrous.

Their offense managed only 23 yards, with passing yards at 20 and rushing yards at 3, completely stifled by the Eagles' defense. Patrick Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl MVP, faced one of the worst first halves of his career. The 24-0 score difference was the largest since the 1989 Super Bowl, and the Chiefs could not respond at all.

During the halftime show, hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar performed, with SZA joining as a guest to light up the stage.

In the second half, the Eagles' momentum did not wane. They scored a field goal to make it 27-0 and continued to block the Chiefs' offense with strong defense. With 2 minutes and 40 seconds left in the third quarter, Jalen Hurts connected on a 46-yard long pass to DeVonta Smith for another touchdown, extending the lead to 34-0. The Chiefs managed to score just before the end of the third quarter with a touchdown pass from Mahomes to Xavier Worthy, making it 34-6, but a failed two-point conversion was not enough to turn the tide.

The Eagles dominated the game, scoring two field goals to make it 40-6. The Chiefs managed to close the gap to 40-22 with consecutive touchdowns from DeAndre Hopkins and Worthy, along with a successful two-point conversion, but ultimately could not turn the game around due to a lack of time.

This game was a perfect victory for the Eagles, while the Chiefs, aiming for a third consecutive Super Bowl win, saw their dreams dashed.

The MVP of Super Bowl LIX was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles achieved their second Super Bowl victory since 2018, leaving a significant mark with this win.
