How Long Does It Take to Get to the Airport from Victorville? - Victorville - 1

Before moving to Victorville, I asked, "Is there an airport nearby?" and was told, "There's Southern California Logistics Airport," which made me happy.

However, Southern California Logistics Airport (SCLA) is a cargo-only airport located in Victorville.

There are no passenger flight services available for the general public. It operates as an Amazon logistics hub, aircraft maintenance facility, and a cargo transport specialized airport.

So, to catch a flight from here, the nearest airport is Ontario International Airport (ONT).

It's about a 50 to 60-minute drive from Victorville. You just head south on I-15 and pass Rancho Cucamonga.

Major airlines like American, Southwest, Alaska, and United operate there, and while it's smaller than LAX, the lines are shorter and parking is easier.

To get to LAX safely, you need to leave at least 4 hours before your flight, but often you can leave just 1 hour and 40 minutes before your flight at ONT and still be fine.

LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) is about a 2-hour drive away. During rush hour, it can take over 3 hours.

If you frequently use international flights, you should factor this travel time into your travel plans.

Also, there's no train station here. Amtrak or Metrolink services do not connect to Victorville. If you need to use the train, you have to drive to San Bernardino (about 45 minutes) or Riverside to catch the Metrolink. This is a limitation of Victorville.

Living here makes it difficult to rely on public transportation, and using air travel without a car is challenging. A personal vehicle is essential in this city.

However, parking at ONT is much cheaper and more convenient compared to LAX. Long-term parking membership rates are reasonable.

If you absolutely need an international flight, you have to go to LAX, but for domestic flights, considering ONT as your first option is the way to go as a resident of Victorville.
