Living in the U.S., there are times on weekends or holidays when you think, "What should I do today?"

Compared to Korea, the U.S. offers a variety of activities to enjoy when you're bored.

At first, I found it unfamiliar, but as I experienced each one, I discovered their unique charm.

Today, I have organized the top 10 activities to do when you're bored in the U.S. in my own style.

1. Go on a Road Trip
The U.S. is vast, and just a few hours of driving can lead to completely different scenery. You can choose from national parks, beaches, deserts, or mountain ranges based on your preferred style. When you play music and drive down the highway, there comes a moment when you think, "Ah, this is America."

2. Hiking & Trekking
Just a little outside the city, there are many hiking trails. In California, there are famous trails like Yosemite, in Washington State, Mount Rainier, and in the East, the Appalachian Trail, along with smaller trails in neighborhoods that you can walk without much burden.

3. Watch a Sports Game
The U.S. is a sports paradise with baseball (MLB), basketball (NBA), football (NFL), and ice hockey (NHL). Going to a game and cheering while eating chicken or hot dogs is a great way to relieve stress. It has a different thrill compared to Korean professional baseball.

4. BBQ Party
Living in a U.S. neighborhood, having a BBQ party in the backyard is a common occurrence. Grilling meat and chatting with neighbors over a beer is fun in itself. You can also invite friends for a small gathering.

5. Museum & Art Gallery Tour
World-renowned museums like the Metropolitan in New York, the Smithsonian in Washington D.C., and the Art Institute of Chicago are plentiful. Many places offer free admission, making it perfect for filling your cultural knowledge when you're bored.

6. Outlet Shopping
U.S. outlets are truly large in scale. You can find luxury brands and sports brands at affordable prices. After wandering around all day, shopping itself feels like a journey.

7. Farm Experience & Farmers Market
Especially in summer and fall, farm experiences like strawberry picking and apple picking are popular. Visiting local farmers markets allows you to enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits, homemade jams, and bread, providing a little fun.

8. Movie Theaters & Drive-In Cinema
Watching Hollywood movies on a big screen while eating popcorn is definitely a different experience. In some areas of the U.S., there are still drive-in cinemas, offering a unique experience of watching movies from your car.

9. Biking
Riding a bike in urban parks or along coastal roads is the best way to refresh your mood. Especially on the West Coast, you can ride alongside the ocean, making it feel like a scene from a movie.

10. Participate in Volunteer Work
The culture of community service is well-developed in the U.S., so volunteering at places like food banks or animal shelters on weekends can be rewarding and a way to meet new people. It's surprisingly fun and fulfilling activity.

If you just stay inside when you're bored in the U.S., you're really missing out. With vast land and diverse culture, there are plenty of things to enjoy just by stepping outside.

There are large-scale activities like road trips, as well as lighter options like farmers markets or movie theaters.

Above all, there are atmospheres and experiences that can only be felt in the U.S., so when you think, "What should I do today?" it would be good to recall these 10 activities.

Not having time to be bored is another charm of living in the U.S., I think.
