Hello, today I will introduce a healthy and delicious sandwich recipe that makes great use of guacamole.
With simple ingredients and an easy cooking method, it's a perfect menu for breakfast or a snack!
Ingredients (for 1 serving)
Guacamole
- 1 ripe avocado (make sure it's well ripened)
- 1/4 diced tomato
- 1/8 diced onion
- A handful of chopped cilantro
- Juice of 1/2 lime
- Salt and pepper to taste
- (Optional) A little diced jalapeño
Sandwich Ingredients
- 2 slices of rye/wheat bread or your favorite bread
- Fresh vegetables (lettuce, spinach)
- 2-3 slices of tomato
- A few slices of thinly sliced cucumber
- (If desired) A few slices of chicken or bacon
How to Make
Making Guacamole
- First, cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl with a spoon.
- Use a fork to mash the avocado until smooth, then add the diced tomato, onion, cilantro, and jalapeño.
- Season with lime juice, salt, and pepper, and mix well to combine the ingredients.
- It's best not to make the guacamole too smooth; leaving some chunks gives it a nice texture.
Preparing the Sandwich
- To enjoy a nuttier flavor, lightly toast the two slices of bread in a toaster or on a pan.
- Generously spread the prepared guacamole on one side of the toasted bread.
Layering the Ingredients
- Place fresh vegetables (lettuce or spinach) on top of the guacamole.
- Add the tomato slices and cucumber slices, and if desired, add protein ingredients like turkey ham, chicken, or bacon.
- Spreading a little guacamole on the other slice of bread enhances the flavor from both sides.
Finishing and Serving
- Carefully align the two slices of bread to complete the sandwich.
- Cut it in half and serve on a plate with fresh herbs or a simple salad for an even more delicious experience.
This sandwich, with the creamy taste of guacamole and the fresh vegetables and protein ingredients, is rich in nutrition and makes for a delightful meal.
Make it easily at home and enjoy it with family or friends. I served it cut into bite-sized pieces at a house party, and everyone loved it.
I will return with more delicious and healthy recipes next time.
Happy cooking!
