New apartments with good locations and amenities, especially near Disneyland, can often be even higher. If you are looking to buy a home, the average home price is about $950,000, making it a market that requires significant funds even within Orange County.

Grocery prices are also higher than the national average. However, shopping at various large retailers like Trader Joe's, Costco, Walmart, and ALDI can help save some costs. Additionally, there are many Korean markets concentrated in Buena Park, Fullerton, and Garden Grove, making it convenient to find Korean ingredients.

For a family of four, monthly food expenses are often estimated to be around $1,000 to $1,500, and dining out at a Korean restaurant typically costs about $50 to $80 for two people.

Transportation costs are also a significant burden. Anaheim is a car-centric city, so most households rely on vehicles. When you add up car payments, insurance, gas, and maintenance, it's common to expect monthly costs of about $500 to $800 per vehicle. While OCTA buses, Metrolink, and Amtrak are available, driving is much more efficient for commuting and daily life. Notably, the I-5 and SR-91 highways are known for severe congestion during rush hours.

However, Anaheim is not the most expensive city in Orange County. Compared to Irvine, Newport Beach, and Santa Monica, it is relatively more affordable, and many find the satisfaction level high considering the location and convenience of living. Especially for commuters traveling between LA and Orange County, excellent accessibility is a significant advantage.

For Korean households, the high level of convenience is also a plus. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes by car to reach the Korean business districts in Buena Park, Fullerton, and Garden Grove, allowing easy access to Korean groceries, hospitals, restaurants, and various services. However, since housing costs make up a significant portion of living expenses, if you are planning to move, it is advisable to first calculate whether your monthly housing costs exceed 30% of your pre-tax income.

While the cost of living is somewhat high, considering the excellent location and various amenities, Anaheim can still be considered one of the competitive residential areas in Orange County.
