Here is how to make Mac and Cheese with corn:
Recipe for Adding Corn to Mac and Cheese
Ingredients:
- 1 cup macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cheddar cheese (other cheeses can be used)
- 1 cup fresh corn (or 1 cup canned corn)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- Parsley or cheese powder (optional, for garnish)
Instructions:
Prepare the macaroni: Boil the macaroni in salted water. After boiling, drain and set aside.
Make the cheese sauce: Melt the butter in a pan, then add the flour and mix well, cooking for about 1-2 minutes. Gradually add the milk while stirring and bring to a boil. Once the sauce thickens, add the cheddar cheese and stir until completely melted. Season with salt and pepper.
Add the corn: Add the corn to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes while stirring. (If using pre-cooked corn or canned corn, it does not need to be sautéed separately.)
Mix with macaroni: Combine the prepared macaroni with the cheese sauce, then add the sautéed corn and mix well. Once everything is well combined, the sauce will coat the macaroni deliciously.
Serve: Garnish with parsley or additional cheese as desired, and serve warm.
By adding corn to Mac and Cheese, you enhance the sweetness and texture, making it a much tastier and richer dish. Adding bacon or other vegetables can provide even more variety and richness in flavor!
