During this period, hotel and Airbnb revenues account for a significant portion of annual sales. In contrast, during the summer (June to September), tourist numbers drop sharply, causing many restaurants and shops to reduce their hours or temporarily close. This seasonality presents structural challenges for small businesses and service workers in Palm Springs.

The second economic pillar is the healthcare industry. The Coachella Valley has a high demand for healthcare due to its large retiree and senior population.
