Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine, is arguably the most beautiful coastal national park in the eastern United States. The cliffs where the Atlantic winds crash, the lakes reflecting the sky, and the majestic scenery where mountains meet the sea make this place not just a tourist destination but a space to feel the deep resonance of nature.

As you enter the park, the first thing that catches your eye is the dense pine forest and the long coastline. The 'Park Loop Road' stretches about 27 miles (43 km) along the coast, allowing you to leisurely drive and naturally explore the key points of Acadia.

The most popular section is Ocean Drive, where on one side, there are massive rocky cliffs, and on the other, the blue Atlantic stretches refreshingly. When you roll down the window, the sea breeze brushes your face, and the sound of waves crashing against the cliffs reaches inside the car. The midpoint, 'Thunder Hole,' is famous for the thunderous sound made when waves crash into the rocks. When the water surges in forcefully, sprays can shoot up to dozens of meters, and the spectacle at that moment is truly overwhelming.

The next destination is the tranquil Jordan Pond. Located in the center of the park, this lake is a representative peaceful spot of Acadia. The surrounding mountains reflect on the calm surface, and the sky is mirrored, making it feel like looking into a giant mirror.

In the afternoon, I ascended Cadillac Mountain. At about 466 meters high, it is the tallest mountain on the eastern coast of the United States. It is easily accessible by car to the summit.

Arriving at the summit around sunset, the wind was strong, but the sea scent mixed in the breeze was refreshing. Below, Bar Harbor and small islands dotted the landscape, and the western sky began to turn red. This place is also famous for being one of the first places in the U.S. to see the sunrise, with both sunrise and sunset being spectacular. The scene of the sun slowly rising above the horizon gives a feeling of 'the start of a day' that you can feel with your whole body. Bar Harbor is a charming little coastal town perfect for staying after exploring the park.

Restaurants and shops lined along the harbor help travelers unwind. Especially when walking along the beach, fishing boats and yachts are docked, and the sunset reflects on the sea, bathing the entire harbor in golden light. In the evening, you can taste fresh lobster, and the flavor of lobster caught directly from Maine, steamed and dipped in butter, is truly special. At the seafood market, you can buy freshly caught mussels, clams, and scallops, and the warm aroma of clam chowder wafts from the streets near the harbor. The nights in Bar Harbor are quiet. Unlike the daytime vibrancy, at night, only the sounds of the wind and waves remain at the pier. The starlight is particularly bright, and the moonlight sparkles across the sea. In that moment, all complicated thoughts come to a halt, and you can only listen to the rhythm of nature.

Acadia National Park is not flashy, but it brings peace to the heart of those who see it. The waves crashing against the cliffs, the wind rustling through the forest, the sky reflected in the lake, and the calm sea. All these elements come together to complete the harmony of nature. Therefore, those who visit here say they are not just tourists but are on a 'journey of staying.' Bar Harbor and Acadia in Maine are such places. Slowing down the pace of the day and walking in tune with nature's breath leads to an experience that clears the heart.
