2023년 라하이나 산불로 집을 잃은 이들이 여전히 재건 과정을 겪고 있다는 소식, 솔직히 현실감이 확 옵니다. 임대료랑 집값 오르는 건 지난번에도 걱정된다고 언급했었는데, 여전히 쉽지 않은 상황이네요. 관광 업계가 주력인 이 동네에서 코로나에 산불까지 겹쳐 타격이 컸으니까요.

2023년 라하이나 산불 이후 2026년에도 재건 중이라는 게, 공급 부족이 언제 해소될지 알 수 없는 상황에서 마우이 한인 소규모 자영업자들이 버티고 있다는 게 대단한 일이에요.
